Psalm 37:4
“Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
Dearest Family and Friends,
Delight in the Lord and He will grant you the desires of your heart… His Word is TRUE! Two years ago the Lord called me to embrace my missionary vocation and to leave other possibilities behind. In 2007 I came to Family Missions Company with the longing to give my life to Him as a married missionary and a family. On May 2, 2009 the Lord united me in marriage to my beloved husband and fellow missionary Eric Baquet! Six weeks after we spoke our vows, the Lord put flesh on them in the form of a child growing in my womb! Our first child is due in February 2010! After 30 years of following, wondering, longing, and many “deaths” to my “self.” The Lord has granted my desires in ways that are beyond what I could have ever hoped for, asked, or even imagined!!! (Ephesians 3:20-21)
5 months after wed-ing, Eric and I remain a full part of Family Missions Company waiting on the Lord’s word to “GO.” We hope to be sent into mission as soon as possible after the baby is born. Please continue to pray that the Lord will speak to us, direct us, and guide us in this regard. While we wait, Eric is working at Sears Auto Center on the sales floor, and I am shifting from my position as Missionary Coordinator (best served by a single person)into another role as a music minister at Sts. Leo-Seton School in Lafayette. In my new role I will be teaching the kids how to praise the Lord in song and engage in true worship in prayer and in Mass! I am very excited to serve in this way! In Family Missions Company Eric and I have served and will continue to serve stateside in lots of areas – retreats, music ministry, talks to groups, Faith Camp, missionary formation, acts of service to those in need, and a simple ministry of presence. Some ministry hi-lights over the last months have been Faith Camp 2009 (www.bestweekofyourlife.com) and completion of the “Ananias Project” – FMCs first full-length music CD! (www.cdbaby.com/cd/ananiasproject). My original contribution is the song “Maybe I’d Like a Lot!”
It occurs to me that many of you may be asking the question –“Why doesn’t FMC just SEND you somewhere? You seem to be do a whole lot of hoping and a whole lot of waiting.” My answer is this – it is not FMC who SENDS us, but God, and more specifically the Holy Spirit. It is to Him that we have our allegiance and from Him that we await our command. If He doesn’t give it, we don’t go, we simply serve Him in the waiting. In Acts of the Apostles it seems that St. Paul is running from one place to another constantly, but in some passages it is clear that he remains in one place for a longer time (…….) and it is not mentioned what happens in between each missionary journey. In some places in Acts he and his mission partners seek to “go” to a certain place and they are prevented by some circumstance. ( ) They see this as the Holy Spirit closing the door or redirecting them. This too is the nature of our life as Catholic lay missionaries in Family Missions Company. We seek to live with an itinerant spirit, and in docility to the Holy Spirit wether He says to “Go” or to “Wait.” We find some of our other FMC members in the same position of waiting. One amazing thing that we are witnessing God do in the waiting is raise up missionary marriages! In the last year alone we have had two marriages, two babies, one engagement, and one courtship develop among our FMC family alone!
I want to THANK all those that have supported and continued to support me through prayer, phone calls, emails, and letters of encouragement and financially over the past two years. I ask you to please continue support my “family” now in whatever way the Lord inspires as we seek to follow the Lord into mission. If you wish to donate financially the monies go into a missionary savings account that will be our means of support when we go into the field. If you would like to continue to donate financially we will be very blessed! All donations received during this time go into our missionary “savings account.” You are also welcome to earmark your donations to Family Missions Company as a whole and then donate again to Eric and me directly when we go into the field.
May God reward you richly for your generosity!!!
Please Pray For: a good and holy foundation for our new marriage * healthy growth and development for Baby Baquet * clear discernment of when and where the Lord is sending us in mission * blessings on the ministry we engage in stateside

Is there a possibility you will be in Green Bay on the first Friday of June, or perhpas July?
I have continued from time to time to remind the little children about you and have told them a little about what you’re now doing. It would be really neat if you, Eric and Josiah could participate in one of the Children’s Eucharistic Hours.
